Farmers Market Coupons
The Quincy Farmers' Market and its manager do not issue Farmers' Market Coupons for eligible seniors and WIC recipients. In this area they are distributed through local Councils on Aging and through the WIC Program at Quincy Hospital.
Farmers who have been certified by the Massachusetts Department of Agriculture can accept Farmers' Market Coupons and only for fresh fruits and vegetables. At the Quincy Farmers' Market, only Stillman Farm, Freitas Farm, and Serving Ourselves Farm can accept Coupons.
Coupons for Seniors
South Shore Elder Services
Once again, SSES will be sponsoring the Farmer's Market Program. This is a program which provides coupons to low-income elders across Massachusetts that are redeemable at local Farmers' Markets for fresh locally grown produce. The program is designed to promote consumption of fresh fruits and vegetables, to encourage elders to shop at Farmer’s Markets, and to support Farmer’s Markets that serve low-income consumers. Each recipient will receive $30.00 worth of coupons to redeem at their local Farmer’s Market between July 1 and October 1, 2009. Coupons will be available at your local Nutrition Site or at South Shore Elder Services as of July 15, 2009. We are currently setting up distribution dates and locations.
